Under-dogs win, hat-trick in Choma as Kitwe derby ends in draw

Relegation threatened Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy (KYSA) and Nchanga Rangers defied all odds to beat Red Arrows and in form Kabwe Warrirors as Nkana held Power Dynamos to a 2-2 draw in the Kitwe derby.

A wasteful Red Arrows side was punished by KYSA when they scored two quick-fire goals through Sililo and Simpamba in the 53rd and 55th minutes to lead 2 – 0 away and the home side only score the face saver through substitute Patrick Ngoma.

Arrows who have not won in the last four games remain in 14th position on 24 points as pressure continues to mount on Honour Janza. KYSA move to 17 points but are still third from bottom.

Kabwe Warriors’s three match unbeaten run was brought to a halt in Chingola when they lost 1 – 0 to Nchanga Rangers. Nchanga Rangers remain in relegation zone while Warriors drop into 4th position.

The Kitwe derby lived up to expectation as it turned to be a four goal thriller with Power and Nkana sharing spoils.

There was another headline in Choma as Progress Kalenga slammed a hattrick when Choma Eagles demolished New Monze Swallowa 4 – 0.
