Division One playoffs set for 6th and 13th July
The Division One Zones playoffs for Promotion to the Super League and National Division one have been set for the first and second week of July the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.
The playoffs will take place on 6th and 13th July according to ZamFoot Crew sources at Football house. The playoffs will see the four winners of the Zones involved in a mini-league to decide who will be promoted to the Super League.
In Zone One, the most likely team to qualify for the playoffs is National Assembly who leads the log with 63 points and only one game to play.
Assembly, however, has stiff competition from Police College who is second with 62 points. Police College may not qualify for either the Super League or the National Division if it is determined that they are a feeder club or academy of Nkwazi though they have come out and said they are not connected with Nkwazi and Club Licensing will prove that.
Assembly can cancel all these mathematics should they beat Rome on the last day. National Division One Zone One places are being chased by Kafue Celtic, Lusaka City Council, and Romeki. After club licensing, Rome may be ruled out and replaced by the City of Lusaka.
In Zone two things are very clear, Kansanshi Dynamos have qualified to the Super League play-off and as things stand National Division One will include Indeni and Gomes while Chambishi and Konkola Blades will have to fight for the other slot.
In Zone three it’s a straight forward matter with KYSA having wrapped up their place in the playoffs but National Division One is not clear as some of the teams may be disqualified by Club Licensing. Real Nakonde could qualify to National Division One in this zone among those fighting for National Division One slot.
In Zone Four, the top two teams Zesco Shockers and Young Green Eagles will be knocked out because they are academies of Zesco United and Green Eagles respectively.
Mumbwa Medics will qualify to the Super League playoffs.
