CR Belouizdad arrive for Confederation Cup tie against Kalampa
Algerian side CR Belouizdad arrived in Kitwe on Thursday afternoon ahead of this Saturday’s CAF Confederations Cup against Nkana.
The North African side have a healthy lead thanks to 3-0 aggregate from the first leg and are strong favourites to go through.
They are expected to have a feel of the Nkana Stadium turf on Friday afternoon.
For the home side, there’s a feel good factor in the Kalampa camp that they can score more than three goals.
Actually Nkana chairman Evaristo Kabila has already predicted a 6-0 win for the Wusakile boys.
Over the weekend, Beston Chambeshi’s scored 4 goals with Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba and Idriss Mbombo hitting a brace each but it is the defence that remains a source of worry.
The last time a Zambian club tried to overturn a deficit was Red Arrows and they had the help of Frenchman Herve Renard but a Timothy Mbewe hatrick wasn’t enough.
One thing which Kalampa fans will be hoping for will be if either Mbombo or Sate Sate could score a hatrick and hope for the John Mwengani backline keep a clean sheet.
In CAF Champions league both Zesco United and Zanaco are on the road in Africa.
Zesco United have arrived in Ivory Coast.
The Ndola will face Asec Mimosas and it’s the the Ivorian with a slender advantage thanks to an away goal they scored in the first leg.
A 1-0 win for Zesco will send the match to extra time and subsequently to penalties while any other win for the Tenant Chembo side will be enough to send them to the group stage.
In Swaziland, already trailing 2-1, Zanaco have to score 2 or more goals to advance.
A scoring draw or 1-0 win for the bankers won’t be enough.
