The Confederation of Southern Africa Football Association have announced that this year’s Cosafa Under-20 will not take place.
According to the Cosafa secretariat, the regional junior championship will not be staged to what they termed ‘organisational constraints’.
The tournament has been staged in Botswana and South Africa in the last few years.
It has helped kickstart international careers of many Chipolopolo players including Sate Sate Kampamba, Lubambo Musonda, Evans Kangwa and Mukuka Mulenga.
The likes of Clifford Mulenga, Jacob Mulenga and Rainford Kalaba have all played at the tournament.
Sad development
The competition will always be in problems, given th sponsors don’t hv their own men running the show! Kalusha’s glaring dislike for Jordan is partly to blame.
nakuli COSAFA ni kalu wakenga?.
For the benefit of the development of our junior teams and considering the support COSAFA receives in Zambia, why can’t our FAZ just hoist these tournaments year in year out. These small ones would also enhance our administrative capabilities and capacities to host the bigger ones.o
