City of Lusaka seek first home win as they host Zesco United
The local league action come back to action on today with a Friday fixture between City of Lusaka and Zesco United to be played at Woodlands stadium.
With a trip to Sudan set for next week, Zesco United opted to have their played a day to facilitate smooth travels for in their CAF Confederations Cup assignment.
The hosts City of Lusaka will be looking to get back to winning ways after they were beaten over the weekend by Nkana FC a result which saw them drop to 12th position.
However their home form has been poor as they have failed to pick a win at their refurbished stadium only managing a draw in three games while they have picked two wins in three games on the road.
Zesco United on the other hand will be buoyed by the prospect of going top of the log on goal difference if they win the game.
Their form going into this game has not been impressive having failed to win a league game in three outings.
The last time they were in Lusaka they lost to Napsa Stars.
But with a CAF Confederations Cup win over Smouha in their last game at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, the Zesco will come in the match with an extra spring as they hope to build momentum ahead of their match against Hilal Obayed in Sudan next week on Saturday.
