Russia based attacking midfielder Chisamba Lungu has rescinded his decision to quit the Chipolopolo.
Chisamba who announced that he would rather not play for the Zambia national soccer team after he was left on the bench in the game against Guinea Bissau says he cannot disappoint his mentor Wedson Nyirenda and will honor the national team call up this time around.
This is after he snubbed George Lwandamina’s call to play in the game against Kenya.
“We should look at the bigger picture which is the nation. It is the country at stake not our personal egos. Whoever is called has to respond to the call otherwise we can be embarassed. We are out of the Africa Cup, we have to make up for that. We have to account for ourselves well and put up a good run in our campaign for the 2018 Russia World Cup,” the Ural midfielder told the Zambia Daily Mail.
He added:
“My football career would not have reached this stage had it not been for his [Nyirenda] input. He has always been my mentor and I cant dissapoint him. He has been there for me and I have made it. The moment he came in as coach, I knew I was going to be available even if I rejected previous calls.”
“I have not yet talked to him but I am confident he will mentor all of us at the national team. I know his capabilities and he is not just an ordinary coach. He is not just a coach on the field but off the field as well. It is a plus for me to work with him because he understands me well.”
Chisamba joins Fwayo Tembo who has also reported for the national team camp after he had said he would not play for Zambia.
Good for mother Zambia. All players have to buy into the coaches philosophy and it looks like Wadda is a likable coach. Zambia will surprise people if all the players play with purpose. Good luck all the way.
Let the coach call chamanga to partner Mbesuma upfront.

Am surprise why this Wada drops Chris and lubambo picking Charles Zulu and shonga why fake selection on locals why some coaches look and see the strength of the player. ?

Lets just be honest and say you did not want to play for Chicken because you were benched. Will you also refuse a call up if Wadda benches you?
On this one I can side with Chisamba. Some of the selections Chicken used to make were useless. You can’t bench Chisamba and play ka Katema.
Its actually Lwandamina’s ego and not Chisamba’s.
Positive thing, if you know that whatever you do it will not amount to anything. Why come, a protest is better in that case to expose the rotteness!

I think you guys should be looking at the bigger picture which is the gameplay rather than glorifyinv individuals in the team. I watched Nigeria against Egypt twice and the in the final game against Tanzania. Lagerback is going to use Iheanacho for his steam work; something that was missing in the Egypt game before he came.And that dude can destroy Zambia easily. Draw this game and you are out because Algeria and Cameroon always score away and it could be devastating when u visit them. Stop picking players and demonizing others.
Review the grounds which faz used to protest over the guinea Bissau match before u talk about water bwalya ….also review fifa guidelines on the eligibility of a player ……we’re does water bwalya come from.. are u able to prove yourself

Welcome back chisambadinho.i need chris katongo,mbola and chansa in the team.others are criticising katongo here but to me the last three games he played for national team he played well.each time he was substituted zambia struggled and you are busy saying katongo is finished.people we love soccer and this game is not for children where we should start experimenting.those small boys bene shonga can’t resist the pressure that this game has.chris and mbola should just be called there is still time.Go Go boys we are CHIPOLOPOLO
