Chipolopolo start preps for dead rubber AFCON qualifier

Chipolopolo Boys stand in coach Aggrey Chiyangi has named 25 locally based players for this month’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Namibia.

Zesco United and Nkana players are not part of the squad as owing to CAF Confederations Cup engagements.

The likes of Lazarous Kambole, Simon Silwimba, John Ching’andu, Kondwani Mtonga, Shadreck Musonda, Festus Mbewe, Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba, and maybe Ronald ‘Sate Sate’ Kampamba will join next week after this weekend’s Group C ties which will see Zesco United host Asante Kotoko while Nkana will be away in Khartoum against Al Hilal.

With the quartet Patson Daka, Enock Mwepu, (both Austria), Fashion Sakala (Belgium) and Emmanuel Banda (France) expected to join the Under-23, Chiyangi might summon (Stopilla Sunzu (France) Evans Kangwa (Russia) and Lubambo Musonda (Poland) to beef up the Chipolopolo Boys.

From around the continent, South Africa has the biggest contingent led by Orlando Pirates duo Justin Shonga and Augustine Mulenga.

Polokwane City’s Salulani Phiri might earn a recall while Kennedy Mweene might be given a rest.

Red hot Musonda Mwape, straight from banging a hatrick over the weekend for Black Leopards and took his tally to 12 goals is set to be recalled after an almost 25 months absence.

Chippa United’s Donashamo Malama might also be considered.

TP Mazembe trio Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala and Kabaso Chongo together with Clatous Chama from Tanzania are all available for selection.

But there are rumours that Chiyangi wants to feature a locally assembly side in order to prepare for CHAN qualifiers.

The team which is being led by the returning Rodger Kola will have their first training session on Monday afternoon after at Nkoloma Stadium.

Common sense. Give chance to the locals but exclude those that failed abroad: Kola for what???

(This is just my opinion others may have theirs, that is the way it is

How many coaches for national team in last 2-3 years?
    Janza, Lwandamina,Nyirenda, Sven…
    How many trophies?
The coaching selection strategy has not worked. We seem to be repeating the same mistakes.
Local or not …its time to get better thinkers i.e. coaches who can understand how the national team style of play and allow local talent – especially good defenders- to flourish – those that can play out of defence.Chaps who have been in school for longer may have the tools to continue improving and handle the difficult times in a footballing career. Just my humble opinion.

no one is coming to watch this rubbish

Before I can bring my true ideas answer this question (HOW MAY AFRICAN TEAMS MANAGED TO DEFEAT ALGERIA HOME & AWAY?)

Team selection this time disadvantaged us results this so called expatriate coach found a well assembled team of which he was supposed to make one or two changes to it.
Than benching players who gives opposing players busy, the likes of Fashion SAKALA, Ziyo TEMBO, Rainford KALABA, Ernest Alterza MBEWE and Simon SILWIMBA all were ignored.
The team which was assembled by Wedison Nyirenda had much strength from attacking mid-field to wings and strikers. It was ever look threatening to other team. Sometime these coaches you pick should have time to watch and listen to analysists and comments from SOCCER Africa panel.
THE REAL LINE UP: CHARLES MUNTANGA (Nkwazi fc), SILWIMBA, CLEMENT MWAPE (both Zesco), ZIYO(professional), SUNZU(prof), CHONGO, KALABA, SINKALA (all Tp) MWEPU(Sulbuz), TRIPLE CCC(Simba), ERNEST ALTERZA(zana), AUGUSTINE(Pirates), PATSON(Redbull), FASHION (Ostend kv),
Any coach who brings the results I support them,.

How can chiyangi call tapson kaseba to national team when he can not play him at green eagles. The issue of playing local players can not work
