Chipolopolo off to Dubai as Egypt abort Senegal friendly
The Zambia national team has left for Dubai where they will play Egypt.
The Chipolopolo trained on Friday afternoon afternoon in Lusaka before departure which was scheduled for 2300hrs Zambian time.
Collins Mbesuma, Kennedy Mweene, Stoppilla Sunzu, Chisamba and Nathan Sinkala were all part of the training session as the technical bench welcomed back the local players who had been released to feature for their clubs in the midweek fixtures.
Other foreign based players expected to be in the team are captain Rainford Kalaba and Lubambo Musonda.
The Chipolopolo will arrive in the UAE tomorrow (Friday) and will have Saturday to loosen up before the game on Sunday which will kick off at 1800hrs.
In another development, the Egyptians were today scheduled to play Senegal but the friendly match was cancelled after Senegal sent their U23 Olympic team to Abu Dhabi instead of the senior team, a decision the Egyptian authorities did not consent to, a ZamFoot source disclosed. Senegal opted to play the senior team against Algeria on Friday evening.
Egypt is now demanding a USD 100,000.00 for breach of contract by the Senegalese.
The Pharoahs will leave Abu Dhabi for Dubai tomorrow (Friday).
The tickets for the match have been pegged at USD 13.5, USD 27.2 and the most expensive ticket will go for USD 54.5 (approximately K654.00).
The rights to televise the match have been given to Dubai Sports Channel.
