Chipolopolo beat Pirates in friendly match ahead of CHAN kickoff

Goals from Lazarous Kambole, Fackson Kapumbu and Alex ‘Bazo’ Ngonga lifted Zambia to a 3 – 1 win over South African top league side Orlando Pirates.

The Chipolopolo who arrived in Johannesburg yesterday took the to the pitch this morning ahead of their departure for Morocco this evening with Coach Wedson Nyirenda naming the same starting XI that started against Circuit City in a practice match over the weekend.

Lazarous Kambole who was also on the score-sheet against Circuit City put Zambia ahead in the 13th minute with a headed goal.

Mpho Makola levelled for Pirates in the 22nd minute and the first half ended with the two teams level.

After the restart, Kapumbu restored Zambia’s lead in the 47th minute with a well taken shot from outside the box before substitute Alex Ngonga who came in for Friday Samu in the first half put the game to bed with an 85th minute goal.

Zambia play their first game at the CHAN tournament on Sunday 14th January kicking off at 21:00hrs.

King Bazo makes it three for Zambia. Came on to replace Lazarous Kambole. Donashano and Godfrey Ngwenya for Jack Chirwa and Friday Samu respectively .

    What did they wear? A national team without a jearsey sponsor! Sigh shameful, how does a player even feel proud to put on a t-shirt @ an international tournament….? Cry my beloved Zambia
