Sensational Zanaco winger Charles Zulu seems to returning back to his best after being out for nearly seven months with injury. Zulu suffered an injury while attending trials in Switzerland for a possible switch to Europe earlier this year.
The diminutive pacey winger was a second half substitute yesterday in the Barclays cup and the game changer for Numba Mumamba’s side. The 20 year old first started with a solo run which resulted in a penalty 7 minutes from time after Derrick Mwansa hacked him down in the 18 yard area.
He was also involved in the second goal assisting Isaac Chansa for the winning goal with a pin point cross. His coach was full of praise for the youngster describing him as an asset to the team.
“His contribution is what has made us to even win this trophy. He came in very well, he added value to the team. I think he is getting back to his best so we just need to keep encouraging him. He is an asset to the team,” Numba told Zambianfootball.co.zm .
Zanaco won their first ever Barclays cup title after beating Napsa Stars two goals to one. Zanaco fought back from a goal down to win the match after two unsuccessful previous attempts.
