Chipolopolo Boys’ are expected to leave for North Africa on Tuesday ahead of this weekend’s CHAN tournament in Morocco, the ZamFoot Crew understands.
And the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal that there’s anxiety in the Chipolopolo camp at Lusaka’s Cool Breeze Lodge as the players have been waiting since Wednesday last week to leave for the tournament.
“The team was supposed to leave on Wednesday last week but departure day has been constantly changing due to logistics issues FAZ can comment on.
“On Friday, they were told that the team would leave on Monday. So we hope by the end of day, the boys will be off to Morocco,” a ZamFoot Crew insider said on Monday morning before reports emerged that the team will leave on a chartered flight on Tuesday.
The ZamFoot Crew understands the team’s planned friendly matches with either Cameroon or Equatorial Guinea might be off.
“The plan was to have the team fly to Tunisia last week. Whilst in Tunisia, the team could have played Equatorial Guinea this past weekend.
Cameroon are still itching to play Zambia in a friendly, but that depends if the team will leave on Tuesday.
“It’s hasn’t been an ideal preparatioans for coach Wedson Nyirenda.
While there’s a general perception that Nyirenda is responsible for friendly matches, it’s not the case.
“It is clear that Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon have been available for friendly games. The issue is purely administrative and not technical. Therefore it’s not Wada Wada’s fault.
Zambia play Uganda in the first match before engaging Ivory Coast. Then it will a Southern Africa mini derby against Namibia in the final Group B match.
These are the things we should remember, when the team s performance is bad .we should avoid heaping the blame on the coach. Just as we Ave been told, the problem is administrative not technical.
Maybe they don’t have jerseys. They can borrow from Zesco, looks like Chipolopolo.
Too much Ubukopo mu faz. When did the team qualify for this tournament??? They can’t tell us now that we are having issues. That’s unacceptable
Bad organisation Ba Faz this is worsened we ever have in Zambia
I commented that the worst is to come ,Might as Welll be right.can president lungu also make some changes with this faz before an out break of a football cholera, this clown kamanga and friends are just too sleepy.
Is the place where the players are being kept, safe from cholera.
I think this tournament may be over before it even starts. It’s Cape Verde and Ghana all over again.
