CCC Final: Zambian trio in Mazembe team to face SuperSport in 2nd leg

TP Mazembe on Saturday evening will take on SuperSport United in the second leg of the 2017 CAF Confederations Cup Final at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.

Mazembe go into the game leading 2 – 1 from the first leg and they will be hoping to make back to back wins in the second tier CAF Club competition.

Former Chipolopolo skipper Rainford Kalaba, Nathan Sinkala and Kabaso Chongo all featured in the first leg and they are expected to start again in Pretoria.

Mazembe have more experience at this stage as they are playing in their 11th major club final in the past 8 years while their rivals are in their first major club final in Africa.

However with the advantage of the away goal, SuperSport will feel their are in a stronger position against an aging Mazembe squad.

The game kicks off at 20:15 hours.

  1. Mazembe have retained the Cup for the third consecutive time after a goalless draw in RSA, winning on a 2-1 goal aggregate. Both teams were reduced to 10 men the Zambian central defender sent off first. We need professional teams like it was at one time in the mines if we are to be winning like Mazembe too!
