CCC Draw: Zesco United draw Nigeria champions Rangers
Zambia’s representatives in the CAF Confederations Cup (CCC) Zesco United have been handed a tough draw in the pre-group stage round of games which will see them face Nigeria champions, Rangers of Enugu.
According to the draws conducted this morning, Zesco will play the first match away in Nigeria before finishing off the tie in Ndola.
The first leg matches will be played on the weekend of 7 – 9April while the return matches will be on 14 – 16 April, 2017.
Ranger were eliminated form the Champions League by Zamalek of Egypt.
A 2-1 win in the return leg on Sunday in Enugu was not enough for the ‘Flying Antelopes’ who succumbed to a 1-4 loss in the first leg in Cairo to go out via a 5-3 aggregate scoreline.
Zesco who reached the semi finals of the CAF Champions league in 2016 coursed to the to this stage after they beat Messager Ngozi 2 – 0 at home before playing to a goalless draw away.
