The African champions, Cameroon will miss out of the Russia 2018 FIFA World Cup, after becoming the first team to be eliminated in the final round of the qualifiers when they shared the spoils with Nigeria 1-1 at Stade Ahmadou in Yaoundé on Monday.
The result puts group leaders with 10 points, Nigeria’s qualification on hold and faded any hopes for Cameroon, who have just three points from four matches and can no longer be insurmountable in Group B.
Nigeria took the lead after the half hour mark courtesy Moses Simon, after the ball broke to him in the area. Then Cameroon restored parity in the 75th minute, when substitute Vincent Aboubakar converted from the penalty spot.
The other tie of the group, in the fourth round sees Algeria play hosts to Zambia in Constantine on Tuesday. Victory for the Chipolopolo takes them to seven points, just three adrift Nigeria with two games to play.

For Algeria, it’s a must win encounter. Anything less than victory sees them follow Cameroon suit and turn the group into a 2 horse race, between Zambia and Nigeria.
Miracles do happen. Just like the supper chickens dodged the bullet @ Levy! We can spoil the party on their home turf but that will only happen if we get maximum points against Algeria tonight.
in your dreams, Zambia will lose today
Take out your calculators gentlemen!
