CAF CL: Clatous Chama scores as Simba pound Swallows
Chipolopolo midfielder Clatous Chota Chama was on target for Tanzanian Champions Simba FC in the CAF Champions League preliminary round when they beat visiting Mbabane Swallows 4 – 1 in the first leg.
The 19 times Tanzania champions, returned to Champions league for the first time since 2013, and their trainer Patrick Aussems named Chama in the starting line up.
Simba were dorminant in the game with skipper John Bocco scoring two goals on the day.
Meddie Kagere scored one goal as well before Chama made a run from deep in the midfield to get on a defense splitting through ball which he controlled well, steadied himself to shoot past the defenders and beat the goalkeeper in in additional time.
Swallows were quarter finalists in the 2018 CAF Champions League.
The two teams will meet in the second leg on Tuesday next week.
