CAF Champs League: Under-20 duo set to start against Lwandamina’s Yanga

Zambia Under-20 duo Boyd ‘The Tanker’ Musonda and goalkeeper Mangani Banda are set to start this afternoon’s Zanaco’s CAF Champions League match against Tanzanian side Young Africans.

Mangani is set to replace the suspended Racha Kola in goal while Musonda should get the nod in midfield as he is the banker’s first choice anchorman.

Team news from George Lwandamina’s side indicate that his compatriots Justine Zulu and Aubrey Chirwa will start.

Chirwa is the dangerman having scored 8 goals in his last 10 games.

For Numba Mumamba, the Zanaco coach will banking on that important away goal.

Striker Kwame Attram, scorer of that late goal will start alongside Augustine Mulenga and Ernest Mbewe in attack.

George Chilufya, Taonga Bwembya, Chongo Chirwa and captain Ziyo Tembo will marshal the back the defence.

A goalless draw for the Zambian Champions will be enough to send them to the next stage while a defeat or high scoring draw will favour the Tanzanian side.

Go ZANACO Go. As youngsters we would have said, “high Jump banai settinger kudala.” Simply put, the expected level of achievement has already been set. By ZESCO and now an even higher one by the U20.

My fear is that 1978 game where Mufulira Wanderers went to Simba Sports in Tanzania and beat them 4-0, only to lose 5-0, at Independence stadium in Lusaka, and you are playing at Heroes. Be wary, as I

    Wish you all the best.

  2. This game is going to be tough in the sense that it can go either way but I’m seeing zanaco qualiying with a zero zero state affair

  3. if Zanaco conced more than two before relagation then let them score a goal more than their opponents.
