Bwale hints on giving Malumo a starting berth
Zambia U20 national team first assistant coach Charles Bwale has hinted on starting Wigan Athletic starlet Mwiya Malumo in tomorrows Niger 2019 U20 AFCON second round return leg qualifier against Rwanda . Bwale is happy with how quickly the Wigan U18 top goalscorer has settled.
Bwale believes Shrewsbury Town’s Lifumpa Mwandwe needs a bit more time to settle despite being a very good player.
” I think the two are good players and we thank God that they had to honor the call and if I look at the two Malumo has settled down quicker than Mwandwe. Mwandwe is still having issues in settling down but their is massive improvement as for Malumo their is no problem and I can even start him tomorrow,” He said.
“He is a robust striker and he has settled quickly. He is a good player and he needs to be given Chance but Mwandwe needs more time to adapt. It’s not automatic that a player from Europe should start but they have to meet the requirements of the team,” He added.
The junior Chipolopolo carry a two goal advantage having beaten Rwanda by two goals to nil courtesy of a Francisco Mwepu brace away in Kigali. The match is set for Nkoloma Stadium at 15:00hrs.
