Burundi U20 coach comes to the aid of his players

Burundi U20 national team coach Bipfubusa Joslin came to the aid of his players after Zambian counter part Charles Bwale claimed they looked over age.

Joslin said Burundians just grew fast and are huge in stature generally but the players are all of the right age.

” The problem is that the majority of Burundi people grow fast and are just huge in stature otherwise these boys are real U20 players,” He said.

Zambia beat Burundi by a lone goal thanks to a Lameck Banda long range strike. Zambia went on to finish the match with ten players after the goalscorer was handed a second yellow card for a second bookable offence as he removed his shirt while celebrating.

The two will face off in a second leg encounter on July 21st in Ngozi, Burundi with the winner over two legs set to book a place at the 2019 Niger U20 AFCON tournament.

  1. Some years back, I used to follow the Kenyan soccer league..there was a player by the name Razak Fiston (Burundi National) who was in his mid twenties. After one CECAFA game he moved to south Africa as a 20 year old.. To cut the story short, He didn’t even last.

  2. That’s why we at lacking behind as Africans were will those players take them they win at this level then what? Essien had 1 good season in Europe and that was it coz of age cheating!!!

  3. The under 20 coach should call up mwiya bobo malumo and edward tiger chilufya. Back home there are some players with super division exprience like damiano kola and kunda nkanda..

  4. I dont think zambia can get a result in Burundi..its over over becoz of poor planing ba coach,Beston should havevreamained or atleast his assistant the Buffalo coach Musonda..

  5. I have not seen any huge Burundi or Rwanda man looking at the thousands we have in our compounds. These over aged players, the only thing Zambia should do is to quickly bring in professional young stars to finish the job in Burundi otherwise we may fail to qualify.

  6. These guys in all honesty look older than 20 yrs. This is one of the reasons we have a problem developing players in africa. I have watched a Burundi under 20 team before, then they had a genuine team compared to teams like Ghana, cameroun etc who fielded bald headed U20s.
