Buildcon, Zesco share spoils in Ndola Derby

A Maisha Chavda second half strike equaliser earned Buildcon 1-1 draw against Zesco United in the first ever Ndola derby between the two sides.

Kenyan striker Jesse Were put Zega 1-0 up in the 43rd minute as the two sides went to the break.

In the 53rd minute Maisha’s header beat Jacob Banda in goal. Buildcon later on hit the crossbar but despite a late surge from the home side, the match ended 1-1.

Kondwani Mtonga was stretched off injured and is a doubt for this weekend’s CAF Confederations Cup tie against Al Hilal at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.

Zesco United moved fourth on the log with 23 points, five behind leaders Napsa Stars while Buildcon now has 19 points.
