That Boy Mayuka returns to Israel

Zambian legend Emmanuel Mayuka has signed for struggling Israel side Hapoel Ranaana as the 26 year old looks to resurrect his career.

Mayuka joins compatriot Emmanuel Mbola at the club. Mbola is a vice captain at the club.

Mayuka returns to Israel after starring for Maccabi Tev Aviv who signed him from Kabwe Warriors in 2008.

Mayuka went on to play Young Boys in Switzerland before unsuccessful spell at English side Southampton where he played with fellow Africans, Wanyama and Saido Mane of Kenya and Senegal respectively who have gone on to move Tottenham Spurs and Liverpool.

Mayuka who featured twice for Green Buffaloes twice in CAF Confederations Cup together with William Njobvu, also had spells with Metz and Sochaux in France.

In Europe he enjoyed his best spell Switzerland side Young Boys of Bern

Last year he trekked to North Africa with Zamalek.

On the international scene, Mayuka forced his way into George Lwandamina’s Zambia under-20 World Cup squad which participated at the World Youth Cup in Canada.

Alongside Rodger Kola, and Stopilla Sunzu, he rose to stardom and Zambia’s symbols of present and future were born.

Mayuka has joined Hapoel Ranaana

Mayuka scored on his international debut against Mozambique in the 3-0 in a Cosafa Cup match. Noah Chivuta and Willaim Njobvu were the other scorers.

For his memorable goal, the one against Ghana in an AFCON semi final in 2012 is definitely the highlight but in Israel, there’s always that banana goal against Maccabi Haifa as a teenage sensation.

In terms of his best goal, it was the bicycle kick similar to the one Wayne Rooney scored against Manchester City in the Manchester derby .

Though there’s no footage for that goal against Botswana, there was a high profile coach in the stands at Woodlands Stadium and he took note of the budding talent on the pitch.

The CHAN game against Botswana was Herve Renard first game he watched on Zambian soil before he took over.

His only career hatrick came in the Bp top 8 final for Kabwe Warriors at Nkoloma Stadium.

Mayuka has played at five African Cup of Nations nations with first appearance at the 2008 edition and his last in 2015.

Emmanuel Mayuka has more English league minutes than any Zambian plateforme

His highlight was in 2012 when helped Zambia to the title after he scored three goals and emerged as top scorer despite finishing equal on goals with Chris Katongo and Didier Drogba
