Belgian coach deemed not good enough for Chipolopolo as Sven’s contract not renewned

The contract of Chipolopolo boss Sven Vandenbroeck shall not be renewned.

A statement from FAZ general secretary Adrian Adry Kashman Kashala states.

Vandenbroeck’s last assignment is the March 23 Africa Cup 2019 dead rubber qualifier against Namibia.

Meanwhile, Aggrey Chiyangi and Mumamba Numba appointed as first and second Chipolopolo assistant coaches.

Chintu Kampamba has been dropped from the Chipolopolo technical bench.

The decision not to renew Vandenbroeck’s contract that ends next monthend was made at a FAZ executive committee meeting at the weekend.

The Belgian was handed a short contract whose mission was to qualify to the 2019 Africa Cup.

However, he failed to do so, losing two matches and drawing one and winning one.

Meanwhile, Kashala says FAZ shall continue on the path of football development by recognizing and promoting young talent and building football administration across the country.

He also said that the Under-23 national team shall continue to prepare for the Under-23 Africa Cup qualifier against Malawi en route to the mission of qualifying to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Kashala also stated that Football House expects nothing but a resounding victory in Vandenbroeck’s last match in charge against Namibia.

” Meanwhile Faz has appointed Agrey Chiyangi and Numba Mumamba as first and second assistant” What is the meaning of this? Is Faz intending to appoint the main coach or what ? Because in the same breath Faz have given the two coaches the main task of qualifying the team to the afcon. It kind of confusing.

The kamanga administration has struggled to secure a good coach since its incubation. How do expect winning results in such a short time. This is sports not accounts. The coach being his first time in Zambia, had to understand the Zambian culture and players should know his philosophy.

Thank you FAZ. Bring back Beston for Qatar 2022 and beyond!

As much as I applaud this move because frankly this guy was taking us nowhere, I’m also worried because replacing him will take forever. FAZ and our ministry of sport and finance ministry just never seem to realize the importance of a coach having time with the team. They will sit on their behinds until the last minute, hire a guy and expect miracles when he has only been with the team for a week or two.

So many changes at FAZ concerning National Football Coaching Staff, we are tired and the other issue is that we are tired of these recycled Coaches, its not every former National Football player who can effectively do the job. FAZ Please do your job correctly or resign so hat we help you
