Battle for Golden Boot: Fashion v Singh v Patson

The battle on Wednesday and Thursday night will not be just for a place in the final of the CAF Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations but also for the Golden Boot.

South Africa’s Portuguese based forward Luther Singh is the leading scorer with 4 goals. The sporting Braga striker is the only player with a hatrick to his name at the tournament so far.

Following him closely are the two Zambian twin towers Patson ‘New Malaza’ Daka and Fashion Sakala who are on three goals.

The Kafue native scored the first goal of the tournament and grabbed a brace against Egypt, in a match Sakala also scored. Sakala also had a brace in that 6-1 demolishing of Mali.

Look out also for Edward ‘Tiger’ Chilufya who is on 2 goals.

Guinean striker Morlaye Sylla, who is based in Portugal could also finish as top scorer.

All these three are prolific goal scorers. The Singh boy has impressed me. His finishing and touch off the ball is great. Fashion and Patson have been ruthless in front of goal.
I feel Patson will end up with more goals. Let’s wait and see…. as the late D. Liwewe used to say.

  2. 4-1 my prediction go Zambia go.

  3. Big Steve 4rm SA says:

I hope Conclyde gets some game time today and scores. He deserves it.

My prediction is another walloping – 4-0

    • Judge Joe Bidden says:

And you think Amajita will just sit there watching us scoring?…. you are in for a rude shock. It will be 2 – 1 for Zambia, but dont expect an avalanche of goals from Zambia.

    • Pungwa says:

Boss, I seem to be missing something here, how does he deserve that game time. He was given an opportunity in the first game and he looked out of sorts. Replaced by Emmanuel Banda and am sure we cant dispute that that was an effective sub. What Conlyde needs to do is to really work hard and perform better than those boys leading the frontline. What he deserved was game time in the inconsequential Egypt game. Should we risk it here @ Big Steve ???

      • Judge Joe Bidden says:

He was/is a disappointment this Luchanga chap. The 8-Goals strikers are fine, they are doing a good. He can be brought in at 87th minute when we have already won.

  4. Kuku says:

    God luck our team. Zambia!

  5. Tc Soccerman says:

    What is the game?

    What time?

Helman Makelele once run us ragged with his pace – watch the pacy boy – is it Singh?. Once through on goal he was placing the ball in the far corner beyond the reach of Davis Phiri. I cant remember the tournament, it should be a world cup qualifier. It should also be the game when Elija Litana was flown in hours before the game with a jet from Saudi Arabia – that was ppor management. Case with ZANACO, wWhen a player is committed with one tournament let the other players in your team take care of things- it doesn’t work to be flying people around in an emergency panicking. That’s why ZANACO should forget about Musonda. In the historical SA game we should have been taking care of Sikozana and Mkelele but i think the team planned only for Sikozana. Watch the pacy players, but better if Patson and Sakala can take care of things in front of goal before Singh and co.
