Barclays Cup: Nkana nailed as Zanaco and Zesco reach finals
League Champions Zesco United will play league leaders Zanaco in the 2016 Barclays Cup final after the two teams beat Power Dynamos and Nkana respectively in a double header played in Kitwe.
In the early kick off, it was a day to forget for Nkana when they were sent to the cleaners with a 4 – 0 score line in a game Aubrey Funga scored twice.
Richard Kasonde opened the scores for Zanaco in the 8th minute when he scored a header before Funga scored his first with a good shot on top of the box.
Zanaco were cruising with goals in their boot by the 70th minute after Saith Sakala and Funga added two more.
The bankers are now on course for a double as they have a seven point cushion on top of the log.
In the late fixture, Zesco United continued their dominance over Power Dynamos when they won with a slender 1 – 0 score.
Despite Power playing at home, the CAF Champions League semi finalists confidently marched to the finals thanks to a David Odhiambo 53rd minute goal.
The final of the thus years tournament will be played in November at Nkoloma Stadium.
