Log leaders Zanaco took full advantage of the loss by second and third places Nkana and Power Dynamos to go 8 points clear with a 1 – 0 away win against Nakambala Leopards. Zesco United bowed out of the 2016 CAF Champions League at the semi final stage when they lost 2 – 0 (3 – 2 on aggregate) against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa. The Zambia national women’s team on Friday afternoon beat visiting Egyptian women’s national 1 – 0 in a game played at Sunset Stadium. A 43rd minute goal by Noriah Sosala was enough to settle the tie.
