Austin Muwowo leads Chiyangi’s 25-man squad for local camp
2019 Transitional Super League joint top goalscorer Austin Muwowo leads Coach Aggrey Chiyangi’s 25-man squad for a local camp ahead of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) second round first leg qualifier against Botswana in Francistown which will take place on 27th July.
Muwowo was phenomenal for Forest Rangers scoring10 goals and assisting eight. Red Arrows captain Bruce Musakanya has also made the cut.
Others summoned are Chitiya Mususu, Webster Muzaza, Isaac Shamujompa, Moses Phiri and Emmanuel Chabula. Lusaka dynamos midfield ace Marvin Jere who was outstanding for Lusaka Dynamos in the transitional league, however, misses out.
The team will be drilled by Zanaco Coach Numba Mumamba who is also Chipolopolo assistant coach. The team will be in camp from Sunday to Wednesday.
Zambia will be away to Botswana at the Francistown Sports Complex on July 27 and host the Zebras on the weekend of August 2-4. Winner over two legs will play either Eswatini or Angola in the final qualifying round for the Cameroon 2020 CHAN.
