The Zambia U17 national team on Monday afternoon played out to a 1 – 1 draw with hosts Angola to move to 4 points of the 4 team round robin group of the AUSC Zone V mens football tournament.
The Chipolopolo starlets were off to a brilliant start as they went ahead in the 3rd minute thanks to a Castro Choolwe goal.
Despite Zambia mounting further pressure, Angola held their own and crept back in the game with a brilliant strike from Jose Capitao in he 28th minute.
Angola desperately held on to their first point of the tournament after they were beaten 1 – 0 by Zimbabwe in the opening match.
Zambia now drop into second position after Zimbabwe made it two out of two wins when they beat Swaziland 3 – 2 to go top.
The Numba Mumamba coached side will now face Zimbabwe in a decider on who takes the group and a chance to play in the final.
Zimbabwe have already secured a place in the final while Zambia has to avoid a loss in the final game or hope for an Angola loss.
