Aubrey Chirwa shoots Lwandamina’s Yanga to the top

Aubrey Chirwa scored the only goal of the match on Saturday afternoon when his Tanzanian side Young Africans beat title rivals Azam 1 – 0.

Chirwa was named in the starting line up by coach George Lwandamina together with former Zesco United midfielder Justin Zulu.

In a tightly contested match, the burly striker struck the all important goal in the 70th minute.

Unfortunately for Lwandamina, his anchorman Justin Zulu was stretchered off the pitch with a nasty injury on his leg in the 30th minute.

The win saw Yanga leap to the top of the log on 56 points, one better than second placed Simba while Azam are in third position on 44 points.

  1. Time to assess every player from every leagues

  2. Yes if he is a good player the national team coach should call him but I remember the last time I watched him at under23 Afcon the guy was pathetic may be he has improved this time
