ABSA boss reiterates banks commitment to Zambian football
Zambia’s Biggest and only Cup Competition was Launched on Thursday morning at the Intercontinental hotel in Lusaka, Zambia. The Cup Competition which will now be Called the ABSA Cup has been in existence since 2006 with teams from the lower division competing against teams in the Super division for the top Prize.
During the Launch Barclays Bank Managing Director Mizinga Melu reaffirmed the Bank’s commitment to Supporting Zambian football and Spearheading initiatives to develop Zambian football.
“The Bank has Continued to partner with different Stakeholders to support various Initiatives in our Community Ranging from Entrepreneurship and Education, So our Community Agender is Huge so the ABSA Cup is one of them,”she Explained.
Mizanga Melu emphasized that the Bank belives in creating the Impossible and making it possible even as the Bank is undergoing Transformation.
” As ABSA we provide the opportunity for the players to showcase their Skills we can’t deny the important role that football plays and we are using football to bring Possibilities to Life where everything is possible and in Zambia we are reaching all Country,”She said.
Lusaka will host the Semifinals on the 15th of June while the Final is Slated for June 22 on the Copperbelt. The tournaments will start from the semifinals stage in this transitional period with the top two teams in each stream qualifying.
