  1. There is no action in Israel?
Currently there are no local players with pedigree to cut it in the PSL, Israel,Belgium,or lower tier leagues in Europe. In the eight teams, in the Barclays Cup,none had a striker worthy of note! Its quite depressing! Meantime one Kalu, living it off in RSA, says the league is improving!

    • I feel your pain. Comparing our player’s abroad list/performances against that of South Africa even makes the read more depressing. South Africa certainly does not have more talent than Zambia, or is it that I stand to be corrected?
Their players are actually doing some impressive things in Europe and we just can’t seem to get anything right outside of the ZPL. Even the PSL which was a nice hunting ground for our boys now seems like a farfetched dream for a Zambian player to be a star in.
Sitting with a group of guys from all different places in Africa this past weekend was nightmare when the topic of Zambian football came up. Even a Kenyan was bold enough to say “ we have Wanyama in the EPL who is getting game time and making a mark, you had Mbesuma who flopped and recently Mayuka who flopped so what can you say?”
Even just top ten top scorer chart in PSL is now a dream. This is very sad.

      • Steve, you should have asked the Kenyan where his AFCON trophy is, in fact ask him when last they even appeared in AFCON. I beg to disagree on the part of FAZ. I am no fan of FAZ, but to think that FAZ or Kalu can somehow improve football standards on the pitch considering what they have achieved is simply unfair.

        1. Zambian football is now receiving the most exposure it has ever received in history. People can watch ZPL on tv, and that’s because of FAZ.

        2. There are finally standards being put into effect on coaching. Even though this is CAF driven, it is FAZ who are implementing the process. The truth is there were no standards in the past, which allowed almost anyone to be able to label themselves a coach and be in charge of a ZPL team.

        3. Don’t take responsibility away from the clubs. FAZ did not discover Kalu, Charles Musonda, Msiska, Chikwalakwala, Ucar, Kelvin Mutale, Dennis Lota, Mbesuma. These players came through different clubs that identified them and brought them into the teams. Why are clubs not being held accountable for the quality that they put on the field. Is it surely FAZ’s job to find talent for clubs?

Bottom line is, FAZ objective to create an environment where clubs can succeed and compete. Not blaming Kalu for ZPL’s lack of talent. Clubs with enough innovation and investment in real talent can go far. Why no one has taken the time to study successful clubs rather than recreate the wheel is beyond me.

  2. iam a proud zambian coz most of our players are having game.king David Mbesuma is bussy slaughtering and meace mincing the southafrican defenders eg orlando pirates/sundown as evidenced last wk

  3. Thanks zamfoot.whats actually happened to james Chammanga?at one point hid was on of the stand out africans in the chinese soccer league.
