We are in week two
A look at the FAZ MTN Super League week two with Bwezani
MY VIEW IN THE FAZ MTN SUPER LEAGUE
Forest Rangers Vs KYSA
Both of these sides are still looking for their first points of the new campaign, although at least for KYSA, they got their first goal in their 2-1 loss with Buildicon .
We should see a few more goals in this game as Forest Rangers look to pile the pressure on a KYSA side that could start slowly after the disappointment of week one loss at home.
This fixture is yet to produce a winner as the last two games played in the Super league has produced two draws. 2-2 in Kabwe and 1-1 in Ndola. .
We expect goals in this game and Perry Mutapa needs to give some confidence to the fans as well as the EXCO after a good season in the transitional short season. Forest Rangers is no longer a small team and finishing mid table will be a bad season for Perry. Brace yourselves, this one could be a rough one to get through.
KYSA at least got a consolation goal from their loss to Buildcon while Forest Rangers didn’t inspire a lot of confidence going down to a limited Nkwazi team.
This has the makings of a game of few chances between both sides that could be decided by a solitary strike.
My Prediction: Forest Rangers 2-1 KYSA
Buildcon Vs Nkana
Levy Mwanawasa Stadium
There’s only a handful of teams that could win a game 2-0 & be left ruing a fair few missed chances but that’s the high bar Nkana have set especially if that man Idris Mbombo is in the team.
If Buildcon want to put down an early season statement, this is the game to win and spring a massive upset.
But playing Nkana in this form, that’s really unlikely to happen, while Buildcon were almost beating Nkana in their 0-0 game at home, a memorable clash in the League last season, this one is probably going to be closer to the Premier League match that finished 1-0 to Nkana the first time Buildcon walked into the super league. That remains the only win in this encounter .
Expect a low scoring clash with Idris the difference maker for Nkana, backing up from his brace in week one.
My Prediction: Buuldcon 0-1 Nkana
Kabwe Warriors Vs Nkwazi
Ucar Godfrey Chitalu
For some minutes it sure looked like Warriors were going to get an unlikely outcome from their opening Super League contest before they got back and grabbed a point in the best possible way. They deserve the point away to Green Eagles.
Nkwazi on the other hand managed full points at home to Forest Rangers and I would not be at all surprised to see them struggle this weekend at the home of the magnificent.
Even though the first game didn’t produce the result Warriors wanted, their first home game should give them the boost they need to get over the disappointment of dropping full points to Eagles and come away with a win here.
Nkwazi has not been bad on the road in Kabwe but they have not won there since 20th August 2011 when they beat Warriors 1-0, Peter Lungu scored for the Policemen. After that , draws describe this fixture in Kabwe but in 2018 , the last time these two teams met because they were separated by the Streams , Kabwe Warriors won that encounter and I think they will get it again.
My Prediction: Kabwe Warriors 1-0 Nkwazi
Power Dynamos Vs Lusaka Dynamos
Arthur Davies Stadium
Best case scenario for Power Dynamos: they were made to look a lot worse than they actually are by a really good Kansanshi Dynamos side.
Worst case scenario for Lusaka Dynamos: they were made to look a lot better than they actually are by a Lumwana Radiants team having a bad day.
This is the fun part of Week Two of the Super League trying to work out which signs are real and which are red herrings.
This game has the potential to go either way because of those possible variables so the result might be worth steering clear of and instead look at the goals markets.
Power Dynamos has only lost three times in the last 18 games between these sides in the super league. Actually the last time Lusaka Dynamos beat Power Dynamos was in 2009 in Lusaka and that game ended 2-0. And the only time I remember a loss of Power Dynamos at home to Lusaka Dynamos was in 2008 in September and William Njobvu scored the only goal for Lusaka Dynamos.
But we have seen goals in this encounter with 11 goals in the last four games, so that seems like a good starting point and for some added value, look for new signing Mateo Ndashe for some dancing whenever Power Dynamos scores. But remember there is Chris Mugalu on the side and you always expects a goal from him.
Iam going for a home win.
My Prediction : Power Dynamos 2-1 Lusaka Dynamos
LumwanaRadiants Vs RedArrows
There’s not a lot to like about this game both from a viewing and looking for goals . Until 2018 before that this game had been a one goal game from both sides . We have had six games played between these sides with Red Arrows winning two and Lumwana winning once. The other three have been draws.
Red Arrows is yet to win away in Lumwana having drawn twice and once at home but the last visit for Red Arrows ended in three goals for Lumwana without response . It was on 13th June 2018 when Allan Kapila opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before Obed Masumbuko finished a very good first half for Lumwana on the 45th minute with another goal. Kelvin Kapumbu winded up a very good afternoon in the 62nd minute for Lumwana.
That year Red Arrows beat Lumwana in Lusaka 2-0 with goals from Jimmy Chisenga and Bruce Musakanya .
Its another tough one for Arrows in Lumwana and they don’t look like they are winning this one, neither do they look like they they are loosing it .
A fourth draw in seven games on the card.
My Prediction: Lumwana Radiants 1-1 Red Arrows
NAPSA Stars Vs Kansanshi Dynamos
Two sides that got their seasons off to winning starts face off at Woodlands Stadium hoping for the perfect start to their season but if the name tag is to rake precedence, this match is probably only going one way.
The Pensioners have had a challenge starting strong recently and they will give a big statement should they manage this one but Kansanshi Dynamos have already shown that they are not here for child play and they will compete. Their first home win against power Dynamos was not accidental but a result of great preparation towards this season. Chances are they will find a way to expand on that performance and manage to get anything here .
Will go for the home win especially with their confidence of getting a win away in Mufulira in the first week, Napsa Stars look stronger .
My Prediction: NAPSA Stars 2-1 Kansanshi Dynamos
Green Buffaloes Vs Mufulira Wanderers
Live on Supersport
It hasn’t been a great start to the Elijah Chikwanda new era, which shouldn’t be that surprising but they have a tough task going away to Green Buffaloes who lost their first game away to Nkana when Christopher Katongo looked pretty busy on the touch line.
Things won’t be made any easier with Chikwanda trying out most of his new players for Mufulira Wanderers. Remember its for the first time that the team has a high number of foreign players.
At some point Chikwanda will get his first win this season and it could come this weekend but with the value on offer for Green Buffaloes , it’s too hard to turn down.
Iam going for a Green Buffaloes win and any other result will be a surprise for me. By the way, the last three games between these two sides have ended in draws but five games before the draws have always gone Green Buffaloes way.
The Message is clear
My Prediction: Green Buffaloes 2-1 Mufulira Wanderers
