A lapse in concentration cost us- Mutapa
The 2019/2020 MTN/FAZ Super League Season kicked off Yesterday and saw seven intriguing matches. In Lusaka, Nkwazi welcomed Forest Rangers at Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka and managed a one-nil victory thanks to an Eric Chomba second-half strike.
Nkwazi head coach Chris Kaunda named is usual starting line up with Emmanuel Chabula leading the attack while the Golden Boy, Conlyde Luchanga partnered Zikiru Adams in attack for the visitors, Forest Rangers.
After ninety minutes the ZamFoot Crew caught up with Perry Mutapa who had no kind words for the Mistake that lead to the goal and described the loss as painful.
“We controlled the first half mostly after we conceded a goal we played the ball more and grew in confidence despite missing the chances,” Mutapa said.
Mutapa went on to reveal that Yvan Mballa was warned against back passes, A thing he did and ended up costing the team.
” I even told coach Masauso that he should talk to Yvan the one who made that mistake that in the second half he should not give any back pass but he did that after a minute so it’s not good for the team, One lapse in concentration from the defender and we lost this game, its a painful one we should have won or drawn at least,” he said.
When asked about failing to score, Mutapa said he was not worried as they had been scoring during the pre-season but his main worry for him was the defense.
The loss to Nkwazi means Forest Rangers Joined Nakambala, Power Dynamos, and Zanaco as the teams who suffered defeats on the opening day of the new season.
