Elias Maguri the new Nakambala cult hero
Tanzanian Striker Elias Maguri made his debut in the Zambia Super League against Nkwazi Football Club at Home in Nakambala Leopards Colors partnering Junior Zulu in the Sugar Boys attack.
The Tanzanian striker had a decent game despite not registering his goal on his debut game for the Mazabuka based outfit. The next fixture for the Sweetboys they traveled to Kabwe to face newcomers KYSA, The Lethal Striker made his second appearance and announced his arrival netting twice for the Mazabuka Giants helping them to register their first win of the season away from home.
Elias Benefited from a KYSA defender error before he punished the Kabwe side with a cool calm finish. His second goal was set up by Portipher Zulu towards the end of the Match.
The week 7 game was brought forward and Nakambala Leopards traveled to Ndola to face Forest Rangers at the Levy Mwanawasa. Nakambala lost by 2 goals to 1 but Elias Maguri got his third goal of the season but it couldn’t help the Sweetboys grab a point away from home.
Despite the Tanzanian having scored three goals, the Mazabuka fans were yet to witness Maguri score at home. Next on the table was a week 6 encounter as Nakambala Leopards who welcomed Buildcon In Mazabuka. Maguri partnered John Goma, Goma scored first, Maguri later benefited from a John Goma header netting his fourth of the campaign and the first at home.
The former Simba forward has now scored four goals in 4 games something Nakambala fans are smiling about and are now expecting more from the 28-year-old who has shown some consistency and good goal instincts.
Nakambala Leopards head coach Zeddy Saileti described the former AS Kigali striker as a goal poacher. Saileti believes that the striker will be this seasons surprise package
“Elias is a good player and he is proving that, with more training, he will be in top-notch form and one of the best strikers in the league, the numbers speak volumes for him that’s 4 out of 4,” Saileti told the ZamFoot Crew
Nkana striker Idriss Mbombo leads the scores chart with 6 goals while, Kennedy Musonda, Bornwell Mwape, Jesse Jackson Were, and Elias Maguri are level at 4 Goals in second place.
