Ngwenya, Ng’onga back in full training

Chipolopolo Boys coach Wedson Nyirenda received a major boost on Friday night after Power Dynamos duo Alex Ng’onga and Godfrey Ngwenya joined the rest of their colleagues in training at Casablanca’s Kamhran Sports Complex.

After shifting base from Marrakech to Casablanca ahead of Monday’s 21h00 kickoff against Namibia in a Group B shown down at the CHAN tournament, Nyirenda took his players through their paces.

Though the Namibia game might come a bit early for Ngwenya and Ng’onga, it will be a relief for the technical bench to count on them in the knockout stages.

Ngwenya got injured in a pre-tournament warm up while Ng’onga suffered a groin injury in the first half against Uganda.

With a clean bill of health, the tournament favourites go into the ‘mini’ Southern Africa derby hoping to collect maximum points depending on how the outcome in Group A between host Morocco and Sudan.

Both Zambia and Namibia are level on 6 points

  1. Alex ngonga is barren he should start on the bench. Play him as a winger. I would love to see zambia taking on marroco in the quater finals.

  2. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
    ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

He should only be brought in in the last 10min & that’s if we have already scored & not conceded. As a tactical sub.

  3. Hahahahahah!@Bsimms you have cracked my ribs! Since we cant use a remote control on the coach we just wish him to teach his homeboy Ng’onga not to be selfish and the most important not shoot even if he is one on one with a keeper and wait for his colleagues because we have watched him several time fail to score.

  4. To be champions you need to beat the best, am not scared of either the Host or Sudan, they will never escape the copper bullet.

  5. @ Zambian buffalo I hope Ngonga plays some part in the game against Namibia and if used he should score otherwise…. I would like to meet Morocco further in the competition and not the quater final lol they are terrifying.
